Change management
Change Management is a hot topic at the moment, many of us hear about it, some of us know of it, but what is it like to take the change journey as a Nurse.
My presentation is about my journey as a Registered Nurse with over 30years clinical experience who stumbled upon ‘change Management’ which took me from bed side to board room. Understanding and articulating the ‘Why’ behind change and the impact projects and change has on people at the frontline.
My Change journey began in 2012 I had no road map and no understanding of the path I was embarking on; I had no understanding that Change Management was actually a thing!

Jodie commenced nursing when she was 16 years old as an assist nurse in an aged care facility in Australia, she then completed my Enrolled Nurse training. Then completed her Registered Nurse training in 1998 at Sydney University, while working as an Enrolled Nurse Royal Prince Alfred hospital Sydney.
On moving to New Zealand, she commenced at Dunedin Public Hospital in the Emergency Department where she remain for 6years going on to be an Associate Charge Nurse in Dunedin ED. She then moved into a role of Duty Manager after hours at Dunedin Public hospital.
In 2010 Jodie went home to Nurse her Mum at home in hospital level care until she passed. On returning to Dunedin unbeknown to her, her change journey commenced and has continued passionately ever since.
